Vascular lesions consist of small vessels and angiomas of the skin. Frequently, those who suffer from rosacea have facial, neck, and chest vessels that have gradually become more prominent. Intense pulsed light (IPL) energy is delivered to the skin and is accompanied by cooling methods during the process. The number of treatments required depends on variables such as skin tone and size of the vascular lesions. Typically, a minimum of 3 treatments (range 3-6) are performed at 2-4 week intervals for optimal results. Recovery with the IPL Photo Rejuvenation is minimal but can consist of mild redness to the skin and a “sunburn” sensation that subsides within a few hours. Occasionally, there may be temporary swelling, particularly under the eyes, if the "apples" of the cheeks are treated.
