Kybella is an FDA-approved treatment specifically designed to target excess fat under the chin and upper neck. It is an injectable form of deoxycholic acid, a natural substance that breaks down fat. When targeted fat cells are destroyed, they begin to break down and are eliminated over a 4 week period. The most common side effects are temporary swelling, pain, bruising, and numbness. These symptoms typically resolve 2-4 weeks after treatment.
